The Lowe ‘Tinja’ property has been in the family for five generations and is the home of the Lowe winery. It is here that the Tinja wines are made from grapes grown in premium wine regions of NSW.
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon (Organic).
Region: Mudgee (500m), NSW Central Highlands
From our organic vineyard in Mudgee at an elevation of 500 metres. Our organic vineyard does not allow the use of herbicides, insecticides or most fungicides. The chemicals used must be naturally occurring and not poisonous. We aim to lift the vine health through soil health and complexity and fight disease by leaving a vine with an active and competitive leaf surface biology that crowds out disease causing organisms. Organic wines such as our ‘Tinja’ Cabernet Sauvignon are always textural and, I am convinced, better.
Winemaker: David Lowe & Liam Heslop.
Colour: Brick red in colour, with some youthful purple hue.
Aroma: Bright and perfumed with a bouquet of cinnamon and clove and subtle background aromas of cashew like oak.
Palate: A textural wine with flavours reminiscent of black olives. Long varietal finishing tannins.
Cellaring: It is likely that this cabernet sauvignon will continue to improve until 2021 if cellared well.
