The fruit was sourced from our cooler climate vineyard in Rylstone.
As the name suggests the petit verdot berries are small, so there is a higher skin and seed contact ratio, so you’d expect a full-bodied wine.
The wine was matured for 18 months in 2 year old French oak producing a wine with dark chocolate and black cherry flavours with a slight floral hint. Ideal drinking now, this wine will mature well with careful cellaring.
This variety is often used in traditional Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot blends to boost light wines.
