Sangiovese is relatively scarce variety in Australia, and mature examples even more so.  This is a wine that we made from our dry grown, un-trellised vineyard. After eight years, it has developed lovely maturation characters....

David Lowe's comments from a recent tasting of this wine:

"Big thick and rich... the wine that is. 2003 was a great vintage, with the wines showing loads of concentrated fruit flavours.  Although Sangiovese is often a lighter style wine, this wine is not.  We added a small percentage of Babera which added some inner strength."

"This wine is mature now and at its peak. It has complex aromas, whilst being soft and mild on the palate."
